A leaner alternative to beef meatballs with a spicy kick…
…these patties go down well with teenagers and are brilliant for barbecues. (If you do barbecue them, avoid charring the meat, because this promotes the development of free radicals.)
Serves 4
- 2 large cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1 large green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
- large pinch ground cumin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 14oz (397g) lean minced turkey
- salt and black pepper
- Gently fry the garlic, chilli and cumin in the oil for a couple of minutes and leave to cool.
- Add to the turkey, season with a little salt and pepper and mix thoroughly through the mince. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
- Grill for 10 minutes or until cooked thoroughly, turning halfway through.
- Serve with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes and salad
