I love outdoor training and encourage my clients to do so as much as possible. It energises the body and mind and promotes optimal uptake of vitamin D from the sun which boosts wellbeing.
If you’re feeling stressed or have to spend a lot of time indoors for work, it’s the perfect antidote. Just try one session, be it a run, long walk or a series of calesthenic exercises somewhere outdoors and note how you feel afterwards. It’s a wonderful and natural way of boosting serotonin, the happy hormone that keeps us feeling well.
Pictured above is my client Nicole performing a V sit. It’s a great core exercise that not only builds strong stomach muscles but trains balance and good posture too.
Being an avid gym bunny, I thought I’d never convince Nicole to train outside but here she is, enjoying the benefits and burning more calories than we ever have in the gym!
